Formlabs add Nylon 12 GF to their SLS Powder Materials Family

Formlabs have recently introduced a new Glass Filled Nylon 12 Powder to the library of materials for the Fuse 1 and Fuse Sift SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) 3D printing ecosystem.

This glass-reinforced material is ideal for producing stiff, thermally stable parts, which can endure demanding manufacturing conditions.

Ideal for industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, and Industrial Design, Nylon 12 GF material for the Fuse 1 allows companies to create unique industrial-grade parts in-house.

Nylon 12 GF material is best used for:

  • Prototyping or small batch production of functional parts

  • High dimensional accuracy and low warpage

  • Parts undergoing sustained loading

  • Dimensional accuracy at elevated temperatures

Some examples of applications that the new Nylon 12 GF powder material can be used for include jigs and fixtures, mechanical connectors, hot fluid or hot air flow components, piping, ducts, as well as advanced prototyping and one-off components.
